A used cryotherapy chamber typically costs $5,000–65,000, depending on type, age and condition. Our certified pre-owned program inspects, repairs and recommissions every unit before sale, then backs it with a written warranty. We do not keep a fixed public listing because good units sell fast. Instead, buyers join our inventory list and get matched as stock arrives.
How the pre-owned program works
- We source the unit. Trade-ins from operators upgrading, buy-backs, ex-demo stock and closing businesses. Any brand is considered.
- We inspect it. A full workshop or on-site inspection against the checklist below. Units that fail on safety or refrigeration and cannot be repaired at a sensible cost are rejected.
- We repair and recommission it. Worn parts are replaced, the refrigeration or nitrogen system is tested at full load, and firmware is updated where the manufacturer supports it.
- We match it to a buyer. People on the inventory list see it first, with photos, the inspection report and a fixed price.
- We deliver, install and train. The same team that installs our new chambers handles pre-owned units, so you get the same commissioning and staff training.
The inspection checklist
Every unit is checked and documented. You receive the report with your quote.
Structure and cabin
- Cabin walls, door seals and hinges
- Floor, lift mechanism (cryosaunas) and handrails
- Insulation condition, signs of ice build-up or moisture damage
Cooling system
- Electric units: compressors, refrigerant pressures, leak test, time to temperature, stability at set point
- Nitrogen units: valves, hoses, evaporator, dewar connections, pressure relief
Electrical and controls
- Wiring, contactors, fuses and earth continuity
- Touchscreen, session presets, sensors and logging
- Emergency stop and door-release function
Safety systems
- Oxygen monitor and alarm (and CO₂ where fitted)
- Intercom, camera and operator timer
- Inside door release tested under load
History
- Serial number and manufacture date
- Service records and known repairs
- Approximate session count, where the controller logs it

Remember the running cost too. A used nitrogen cryosauna may be cheap to buy, but it still uses $3,000–5,000 of liquid nitrogen a month at clinic volume. A used electric unit runs on electricity, typically a few hundred dollars a month or less (our new X1 uses about $140–200 a month). See electric vs nitrogen.
Recommissioning and warranty
Recommissioning is what separates a certified pre-owned unit from a private sale. It covers:
- Replacement of worn seals, filters, sensors and any failed parts
- Refrigeration service or nitrogen system pressure test
- Full cold-run test at operating temperature
- Safety system test, with results recorded
- Cleaning and cabin refresh
Each certified unit carries a written parts and labour warranty, usually 6–12 months, set by age and type and stated on the quote. Extended service plans are available on most units. Details are on our service and warranty page.

- Tell us the type you want (cryosauna or walk-in, electric or nitrogen), your budget and when you need it installed.
- Add your room size and available power if you know them.
